NeruPlan is committed to protecting your privacy. This document explains our practices regarding data collection, on-device processing, and your responsibilities when using the application.

1. Data Collection

NeruPlan does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. All your recipes, meal plans, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account (if enabled).

2. On-Device AI Processing

Our application utilizes native Apple Artificial Intelligence frameworks (such as Apple Foundation Models and Vision framework) to provide functionality like parsing recipes and recognizing text in photos.

What data is processed:

  • Photos & Images: When you scan a recipe photo, the app extracts text from the image locally.
  • Recipe Text & Web Content: Texts from copied recipes, scraped website content (via URLs you provide), or parsed ingredient lines are processed to structure the data into actionable recipe steps and shopping lists.
  • Ingredient Names: Processed to calculate measure-to-weight conversions (e.g., converting cups to grams).

Who it is sent to and how it is protected:

This data is NOT sent to our servers, NOT shared with developers, and NOT transmitted to any third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.). 100% of the text and image processing happens securely and locally on your personal device using Apple’s native offline capabilities. Your culinary data, preferences, and photos remain entirely private.

3. Local Storage Only

  • All recipes and planning data are stored securely on your device or your personal iCloud.
  • No data is transmitted to external servers.
  • No analytics or tracking tools are used.
  • No user accounts or registration required.

4. Third-Party Services & Web Scraping

NeruPlan does not use any third-party services that collect user data on our behalf. However, please note:

  • In-App Subscriptions: The app integrates with RevenueCat solely to process in-app subscriptions, which does not involve sharing your personal recipes, photos, or meal plans.
  • Importing from URLs (Web Scraping): When you decide to import a recipe from a web link, your device makes a direct connection to that third-party website, just like a standard web browser. The targeted website will receive standard network information (like your IP address and device User-Agent) but NeruPlan does NOT attach or send any of your personal data or stored app data to these sites.

5. User Responsibilities & Intellectual Property

NeruPlan acts as a tool to help you organize and parse recipes for your personal use. Regarding the "Import from URL" (web scraping) and "Scan" functionalities:

  • Fair Use: The app extracts recipe data (ingredients and instructions) strictly for your personal, private, and non-commercial meal planning.
  • Copyright: You acknowledge that recipes, texts, and images retrieved from third-party websites or books may be subject to copyright or intellectual property rights owned by their respective authors or publishers.
  • Liability: NeruPlan does not host, distribute, or republish any recipes from third-party sources on public servers. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of imported recipes complies with the terms of service of the original source websites.
  • Disclaimer: The developer of NeruPlan is not responsible or liable for any copyright infringement resulting from the user's extraction, storage, or sharing of copyrighted materials via the app's export functions.

6. Medical Disclaimer

NeruPlan provides nutritional estimates and ingredient conversions for informational purposes only. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider regarding dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical conditions.
